OVERVIEW
I provide executive coaching for senior and emerging leaders, as well as key team members, across multiple organisations and sectors. The work sits within a VUCA context (volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity) and often includes leaders navigating economic pressure, organisational change and significant life transitions. My focus is on helping people lead with clarity, resilience and humanity, staying effective under pressure, making thoughtful decisions and building inclusive, emotionally intelligent teams that can perform sustainably over time.
The challenge
Across different organisations and sectors, many of the leaders and team members I coach share a similar backdrop of shifting markets, changing stakeholder expectations, restructures and ongoing economic uncertainty. They are expected to deliver results and hold their teams steady, often while they themselves feel stretched, underresourced or unsure what is coming next.
At an individual level, clients bring a wide range of challenges, stepping into bigger roles, leading through complex change, managing conflict and difficult relationships, building influence without burning out or compromising their values, and sustaining confidence in highvisibility positions. Some are returning from maternity leave or other extended breaks and are working out how to reenter at pace without losing themselves. Others are carrying quiet worries about whether they are enough in their role, even when external feedback is positive. What they have in common is a desire for a confidential, grounded space to think clearly, be challenged constructively and develop as leaders in a world that is not slowing down.
The intervention
My coaching approach is relational, practical and anchored in the real work clients are doing.
- Clarity in complexity: We begin by defining what better looks like for each person given their context, for example, navigating a restructure, leading a new team, or resetting how they work after a period of leave. Together we turn broad concerns into specific outcomes, decisions and behaviours they want to shift.
- Behaviour and mindset: Sessions combine deep reflection with concrete action. We explore patterns in thinking and behaviour, identify what is helping or hindering and design small experiments such as new ways of handling meetings, feedback, conflict, delegation or boundaries, so clients can test change in live situations rather than only talking about it.
- Resilience and sustainable performance: We look at how they are resourcing themselves, mentally, emotionally and practically, in demanding environments. This includes how they manage energy, set limits, build support and recover after intense periods, so they can sustain performance without running on empty.
- Inclusive and emotionally intelligent leadership: Throughout, we pay attention to how their leadership lands with others. We work on selfawareness, empathy and perspectivetaking, helping them notice who is and isn’t being heard, how they respond under pressure, and how they can create more psychologically safe, inclusive conditions for their teams and stakeholders. Lenses such as VUCA, resilience, returning from maternity leave and economic uncertainty sit in the background as part of the context we are working with, rather than the sole focus of the coaching.
What I am doing
In practice, my work ranges from formal executive coaching programmes for senior leaders to focused, timebound coaching for key contributors and emerging leaders.
- We agree a clear coaching contract and work together over a defined period, with regular sessions anchored in real, current situations such as upcoming decisions, conversations, presentations, transitions or relationship challenges.
- I use a mix of questioning, feedback, simple models and realtime rehearsal, for example practising how they will frame a challenging message, negotiate expectations or reset a working relationship.
- Between sessions, clients often experiment with new behaviours and then bring back what happened, so we can refine together. I provide lighttouch support where helpful, such as prompts or simple tools to use with their teams.
- My style is warm, direct and steady. I aim to create a space where leaders can speak honestly, be stretched in their thinking and leave each conversation with something practical to apply.
Emerging impact and next steps
Clients report feeling clearer, more grounded and more intentional in how they lead. They describe being better able to prioritise, have braver and more constructive conversations, set and hold boundaries, and stay present and calm in highstakes or uncertain situations. Many notice improved relationships with their teams, peers and stakeholders, and a stronger alignment between their values and their daytoday leadership choices.
Organisations see the ripple effects in more resilient, selfaware leaders, healthier team dynamics and a more thoughtful approach to navigating change and uncertainty. I continue to expand this work across sectors, partnering with organisations who see coaching as a way to cultivate emotionally intelligent, inclusive and sustainable leadership at multiple levels, not just at the very top.
